QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Koç University will be hiring a Projects Finance Specialist with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required (Social/Administrative Sciences, Life Sciences, Physical / Engineering Sciences). Having a Master’s Degree (any field) is a preference, but not a must
  • Excellent command of English
  • Ability to effectively summarize and communicate documents related to the funded
  • projects (such as grant agreement, consortium agreement, management and financial reporting rules, Koç University procedures)
  • Advanced coordination, organization and communication skills to work with internal (HR, Accounting and Procurement Departments) and external (funding authorities) stakeholders
  • Having a minimum of 3 years Research Administrator experience is a preference
  • Professional use of Microsoft Office applications


JOB DESCRIPTION

This is a “post-award research administrator” position under Koç University’s Project Management Office Directorate (PMO), with national and international career advancement opportunities as a research administrator. The Projects Finance Specialits support staff will have access to future resources for professional training in national and international programs targeting research administrators.

PMO’s main mission is to support Koç University faculty members in all project management, finance, and reporting processes throughout the life cycle of research projects.

PMO’s primary responsibilities include providing direct support to individual faculty; working one-on-one with faculty during proposal budget preparation, project management and reporting, facilitating post-award requirements with the funding organizations, providing information on project management guides and regulations and developing new processes when needed to facilitate project management.

The post-award research administrator will be expected to:

  • Support faculty members and other researchers to effectively and efficiently manage their projects.
  • Communicate and work one-on-one with Principal Investigators (mostly faculty members) to facilitate project based internal and external requirements.
  • Provide guidance and feedback for solving management and reporting related issues.
  • Coordinate with relevant internal departments to prepare project financial reports.
  • Prepare internal guides and define new processes when required.
  • Maintain digital records of all projects and prepare documents for upper management.
