QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Koç University will be hiring a Career and Sectoral Relations Advisor with the below mentioned qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Administrative, Social Sciences , Engineering or related field. Master’s degree in human resources, counseling , career development or related field is a plus.
  • 5 -7 years of professional experience in human resources, recruitment or career advis ing or related area.
  • Demonstrable competencies such as communication, collaboration with others, problem solving.
  • Ability to relate to both undergraduate, graduate students and alumni understanding that they may have different priorities and so they feel comfortable in seeking advice.
  • Thorough understanding of and commitment to the goals and responsibilities of the centralized career services concept.
  • Oral and written communication skills including the ability to make effective group presentations, and to describe programs and provide information with clarity.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and implement programs and events (e.g. physical or virtual career fairs, seminars, webinars, etc.)
  • Excellent writing and speaking abilities in English.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
  • No military obligation for male candidates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Serve as career advisor for all currently enrolled students and alumni to guide students through career planning process.
  • Provide students and alumni individual assistance in defining career options including graduate and professional programs, development of employment and job-search skills.
  • Develop, coordinate, and facilitate training and skill development workshops to include resume preparation, job-search strategies, employer directories, career information technology including www/Internet links, interview skills in order to assist students in transitioning to professional life.
  • Administer and interpret individual interest, skills, abilities and value assessment instruments to help students and alumni increase self-knowledge and make better career choices.
  • Assess individual career development needs and provide students the skills necessary to understand the ramifications of their career decisions and actions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and information about career fields to assure students and alumni receive high quality and current counseling service.
  • Meet with employers in order to understand their potential for internship / new graduate recruitment, plan their employer branding and recruitment events
  • Plan and /or execute numerous online / offline areer fairs, career development events, seminars , webinars and workshops by faculty or professionals, to assist students about career planning process.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with the related faculties to promote the events to increase the engagement of students
  • Assist in planning and managing specific Career Development Center’s informational programs to be presented to incoming students and their parents during the orientation or similar events to share information and the importance of career planning.
  • Support the planning and execution of all career-related activities to ensure effective management of Career Development Center.
