QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for “Assistant Marina Manager " for D Marin Turgutreis Marina.
Key Accountabilities
Supervising daily operations conducted by the marina staff
Ensures Marina rules are applied to all berth holders equally.
Implements standard operating procedures in line with D Marin guidelines and policies
Prepares weekly and monthly reports as required.
Ensure clean and tidy environment for Marina users.
Assists marina manager in case of emergencies such as fire, oil spills, storms, sinking boats…etc. prepares investigation reports and data post event to share learnings
Follows up and measures the performance of technical tenants and contractors. sends warnings and reports when necessary.
Supervise direct reports in their day-to-day tasks and guide them in managing their performance by providing appropriate feedback and counselling.
Prepares annual and longer-term budgets and business plans in conjunction with the Marina manager.
Undertakes local market research, including competitive reviews.
Assumes the responsibility for the full compliance with the health and safety legislation, the Company’s health and safety policy and guidelines, and all recognized safe working practices including all other statutory requirements relating to fire, navigation, life-saving, chemicals, lifting, and plant.
Implement schedule for projects, including start date, status report dates, and completion date.
Provides written status reports on project progress to Marina Manager and other relevant company personnel
Build and maintain a healthy and professional relationship with the marina guests and follow-up with Harbour Chiefs and Front Office accordingly.
Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct, ethics and integrity in all of the marina operations.
Generate plans to increase revenue and cuts cost and present these to Marina Manager
Responsible for training all marina staff on daily marina operations and ensuring each can perform essential job duties
Creating and communicating weekly schedules to the staff to ensure proper coverage at all times in the marina
Sets targets and conducts Performance Reviews for all staff. İdentifies employees for training as per the organizations’ guidelines.
Follows up and solves customer complaints and report to Marina Manager
Verifying marina reservations on a daily basis and completing tasks in preparation for the days’ activities
Accommodating special requests and providing custom services and experiences for our guests and members
Taking initiative on projects that need attention without direct supervision
Demonstrating strong leadership skills within the department, ensuring all marina employees follow company procedures and standards and continuously provide a superior level of service and skill
Must have professional / Technical qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Faculty or a related field required or a recognized qualification from the maritime institute.
Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
At least 3 years’ experience in yachting or preferably in a similar sector.
Proficiency in swimming and in possession of a valid driving license.
Proven skills in VHF communication and boat handling.
Able to communicate effectively, be highly developed and motivated, demonstrate teamwork skills, demonstrate flexibility and customer orientation.
Familiarity and experience with the tools of operation including towing, boat lifting, diving, plant and equipment maintenance.
Able to work at weekends and long hours during the season.
