- At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
- Five Star / Luxury Hotel experience.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Strong communication and social skills
- Ability to focus on guest needs, problem resolution
- Good team player
- Organizational skills
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to Guests.
- Set table according to type of event and service standards.
- Answer questions on menu selections. Communicate with kitchen regarding menu questions, the length of wait, re-cook orders, and product availability.
- Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order.
- Check in with Guest to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages. Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass, etc, throughout the day.
- Complete closing duties, including restocking items, turning off lights, etc.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beer and non-alcoholic sections available in the assigned outlet.
- Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/Champagne by the glass and major wines on the wine list.
- Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink.
- Maintain complete knowledge of strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving.
- Maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, proper table set ups, room capacity, hours of operation, menus, price range and dress code of assigned outlet.
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; use equipment only as intended.
- Maintain complete knowledge and comply with all departments’ policies and service procedures.
- Maintain complete knowledge of Micros and manual systems
- Inspect cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas; rectify any deficiencies.
- Legibly document orders when system is down and distribute orders to respective personnel for preparation or order.
- Anticipate Guests’ needs, respond promptly and acknowledge Guests even when busy.
- Maintain positive Guest relations.
- Be fully versed with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond accurately to any Guest inquiry
- Adhere to all cash handling and credit policies/procedures
- Use all chemicals in accordance with all regulations and hotel requirements.
