QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

Socotab Yaprak Tütün is one of the leading oriental leaf Tobacco merchants in the world, supplying quality, compliant oriental tobacco to the world’s top cigarette manufacturers and is looking for an ambitious and motivated candidate to join Operations team as an Agronomist to take part in our Sustainable Tobacco Production program in South East Region of Turkey.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Agriculture Engineering, agronomy, preferably in field crops, plant protection or soil science,
• Min. 2 years of relevant experience in agricultural business and contract farming preferred,
• MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook),
• High level of planning & organisational ability,
• No travel restrictions domestic or abroad,
• Active driving licence, ability to travel when necessary,
• High command of English both written & verbal.

Key Accountabilities :

• A key member and driver of sustainability programs,
• Builds project requirements and follow up and does performance analyses,
• Implements agronomy programs according to predetermined overall objectives and expected results to satisfy Socotab goals and customer expectations,
• Represents and communicates the company’s agronomy activities to external parties where required,
• Provides supervision to Project Farms, Field Trials, Cost of Production and Training,
• R&D,
• Budget preparation and follow up,
• Monitors progress made on program activities in collaboration with Agronomy Team,
• Maintains relationships with key program partners and customers.
